ABOUT US

The ETU, NSW and ACT Branch is one of Australia's oldest and most successful unions.

The ETU represents more than 15,000 electricians and electrical trades workers across a number of industries, including construction, communications and power.
For the past 115 years the ETU has fought hard to improve the wages and working conditions of its members. We have succeeded in advancing wages, opportunities for our members.

The ETU is a democratic organisation that is run by the members. Members directly elect the ETU officials who represent them. Officials make suggestions and offer advice but at the end of the day the members decide.

Your Union membership is confidential. All contact between you, your workplace representative and the Union is strictly between your and them. You are under no obligation to tell your employer about your membership.

The law says that you cannot be sacked or discriminated against for being a member of the Union.
