ETU welcomes new apprentice organiser Dominic!

The ETU is excited to welcome a new organiser in the apprentice space, Dominic Lombardi!
An active ETU member and part of the ETU Youth, Dominic recently completed his apprenticeship, working in commercial construction.

Dominic sees the value of union membership and joined as a member even before his first day on the job. He regularly attended union meetings as an apprentice, and is motivated by the potential for improving wages and conditions for apprentices by working together as a united force.

He has seen firsthand the difference that the union has made at his own worksite, when an ETU NSW Organiser came on site to raise safety issues, which were then promptly rectified by the employer.

“I want to make a difference to the lives of apprentices, through things like improving training options, wages, and educating them about their rights and their power to make a difference through the union,” said Dominic.

Dominic is passionate about getting more apprentices to join the union and plans to get into schools to let students know about all the benefits of a career as an electrical worker in a heavily unionised trade.
